My daddy sent me a care package in the mail: a box of Hot Tamales, a bag of Twizzlers Nibs, and a four-pack of Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale. I’d never had a pumpkin ale prior to this year. Weyerbacher was my second—I still prefer Dogfish Head Punkin Ale. Maybe it’s because losing one’s pumpkin beer virginity is an emotional time in one’s life.
The very first pumpkin ale I ever had was Smuttynose. My first has also remained my favorite, but on Friday I tried Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale. This one had the most delicious aroma - a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves - just like pumpkin pie. mmmm.
